1. What made you choose Karla Mason Boudoir?

Her Instagram page came up on pages I should follow because Taylor followed you. I’d already done a session with her and I loved how amazing the pictures she took made me feel, so I wanted to do another one, and Karla was too damn talented to not want to book with.

 

2. What were you nervous about going into your session?

Seeing myself in a new light, quote literally. I’ve lost over 30 pounds over the last year, and while that doesn’t sound like a lot, it sure feels like it. I was excited to see how far I’ve come, but more nervous than I can even describe that I’d subconsciously still feel bigger and would pick every part of myself apart in each picture.

 

3. What was your favorite part of the experience?

The energy of it. Karla wasn’t just my photographer for the day. She was my best friend and confidant. She was my hype man. She made me feel like a full on Queen all damn day. The hair and makeup team killed it too, and I’ve never been pampered like that before. I almost cried seeing myself all dolled up like I was. I’m not used to looking in the mirror and thinking ‘wow I look beautiful’. But I did that day. And I will never forget those who played such a big part in feeling that way.

 

4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

Amazing. Beautiful. Sexy. Desirable. Any and all of those. But mostly? I feel strong. I feel empowered. I wake up in the morning and see the wall art I got, and while I obviously don’t look like that all day every day, it makes me feel like I can do anything. It’s the weirdest feeling honestly; it’s a feeling I’m not used to. But I’ll be damned if I don’t love it. I have a bad day and I see that and I’m instantly hit with a wave of confidence and I’m like damn, today wasn’t so bad, I can handle it. I can handle anything. Was it just a boudoir shoot? Well, yes. But did ‘just a boudoir shoot’ give me the feeling that I can take on anything? Yes. Yes it did.

 

5. Would you recommend Karla Mason Boudoir to others?

Hell. Yes. I wish everyone could see how quickly I answered that. I didn’t even have to think about that. I was telling everyone about her work before I even went for my session, and now that I have, I’ve been raving ten times more.
