1. What made you choose Karla Mason Boudoir?

I had been following Karla Mason Boudoir as well as her makeup artist Glam by Jeet for some time and from the start their collaborative work just stood out to me. When I looked at other boudoir photographers their work just didn’t speak to me the way Karla’s images did. I love how she photographs real woman in a real way.  The fact that she prides herself on minimal editing, natural lighting and showing the person is perfect just the way they are is priceless to me. I wanted to look at my pictures and see me, not someone totally unrecognizable to me.

2. What were you nervous about going into your session?

I came to work with Karla during a difficult time in my life, only a few short weeks of being diagnosed with breast cancer. I think most of my nerves were coming from the situation surrounding me. I wanted to capture this time in my life, but I was afraid I wouldn’t enjoy it because of the circumstances.  My fears were totally put to rest as Karla and her makeup artist Jeet were very welcoming and uplifting. For a few short hours I was able to let go of all my worries and enjoy this moment to celebrate me.

3. What was your favorite part of the experience?

My favorite part of the session had to be when Karla would give me sneak peeks of some of the shots. The fact that I saw them raw, unedited and they looked AMAZING made me know the final product would be exceptional. I loved her genuine excitement when she captured a spectacular pose. She made me feel like I was the best thing she had ever seen through the lens of her camera. I still like to think I was ;-)

4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

Now that I completed a session I am beyond thrilled and will definitely not hesitate to do it again. I kept putting it off for so long waiting for the right time I would look or be in my best shape. I realize now, that is silly because we are perfect as we are and should never be ashamed to capture ourselves in every stage of our lives.

5. Would you recommend Karla Mason Boudoir to others?

I would absolutely recommend Karla Mason Boudoir to anyone!!! The whole process was super professional, but at the same time I felt like I was working with a friend. You will walk away with not just products, but works of art you will be proud to hang on your walls.
