1. What made you choose Karla Mason Boudoir?

I had been following Karla for a while on Facebook and instagram and LOVED how she was able to make every body type look amazing. Every one had such different body styles and sizes and she seemed to make every single one look and feel stunning. At some point I decided I needed to do this because I wanted to have that same stunning experience and feel amazing.

2. What were you nervous about going into your session?

Oh I was nervous about many things. I am a sexual assault survivor so the idea of being completely naked and vulnerable in front of a complete stranger terrified me. I am also a mom and of course with that comes a new body that I still hadn’t completely accepted yet. At the same time I seriously needed the confidence back and I needed to love myself again. I had lost myself in motherhood and my trauma and I forgot who I was.

3. What was your favorite part of the experience?

Dude, basically everything. She made me feel so comfortable with her and talked me through absolutely everything so I didn’t have to think about where my hand or foot should be. I seriously loved having my hair and makeup done for me, this made me feel so pampered. I’ve never had my hair and makeup professionally done before and this was such an amazing experience. But my favorite part seriously had to be how she made me feel throughout the whole experience.

4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I feel even more empowered and confident than before. I feel like I found a piece of myself again and that I was more than a mom and more than a victim, but a survivor. I hadn’t truly felt like a survivor before and let me tell you. It’s EMPOWERING. I have finally accepted my new body as a mom and whenever I have days where I’m down and hard on myself and my body I can look back at the amazing pictures and remember who I am. She was able to show me how my “flaws” are actually pretty amazing.

5. Would you recommend Karla Mason Boudoir to others?

Abso-freakin-lutely. I don’t care where you are in life, you need to have this experience for yourself. It’s an incredibly scaring thing to make yourself vulnerable in front of a complete stranger, but it’s SO worth it. You deserve it. Your kids deserve a mom who is completely secure in herself. Your husband deserves a wife who knows her worth.
