1. What made you choose Karla Mason Boudoir?

I found Karla during a dive into a black hole on Instagram one day. I loved the natural light mixed with the sexy, dark style that she had. And every image was classy, but steamy. Then after following her work for some time, I noticed that her “take no shit” attitude was exactly what I needed. I was dealing with a lot of very confusing, emotional life changes and was looking for a really good way to get back into loving myself. Karla just felt like the right person to pull that confidence back out from being buried deep within me.

2. What were you nervous about going into your session?

I was nervous about my insecurity showing in my pictures. I had no confidence in myself in general. Not to worry! Karla makes up it – and then some! From the minute you walk in, she (and Max) greet you as if you’re a long time friend. And I totally started to let my guard down immediately – new mom needed somewhere to store that milk I had just made during the 2 hour drive. Getting hair and make up done made me feel so ready to try out that confidence on the next step in the experience. She helped pick lingerie that was flattering and made me feel sexy. Karla wouldn’t let me look insecure if I tried. She gave tips and pointers and instructions the entire time. Even more so, Karla is The. Best. Hypewoman! I even told her that I needed one of those old school Staples “easy buttons” with her Karla-isms so that when I’m having a tough time, I can just tap it for a “Yaassss bitch!”

3. What was your favorite part of the experience?

Obviously my favorite part was how easy it was to connect with Karla. But I think the coolest part was the client closet. I knew I didn’t have to stress over finding lingerie that fit, or was a good color, or photographed well, or wasn’t played out or outdated. I didn’t have to spend a bunch of money literally just playing trial and error to hopefully find anything I could use. Nope. None of that. I found the Calvin Klein and white tank at Marshall’s, but everything else was from Karla’s inventory. She pulls out tons of amazing options to pick through. It really let me step out of my comfort zone and try some items I otherwise wouldn’t dare consider for myself.

4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

So the day of the whole experience was such a dramatic transition of emotions. The woman who showed up that morning was NOT the woman who left that afternoon. I had been torn down over several years from media, myself and people close to me. I started the day with a “fake it til you make it” mentality, and boy was I good at slapping on a happy face. When I left that day, things were so different. I felt beautiful, strong, sexy, empowered,… But then! Oh man, then I had my reveal. And let me tell you, it was like nothing I had seen before. I’d never ever seen myself in that way. Those pictures were gorgeous. They brought out a fire of confidence! I knew that no matter what difficulties that life was inevitably going to throw my way, I could handle them with grace and strength. I can’t wait to schedule another session!

5. Would you recommend Karla Mason Boudoir to others?

I have and I will continue to do so! It has been worth every penny. The friendship. The professionalism. The lingerie. The loft studio space. The pictures. The very high quality products. Every bit of that is incredible on its own. But all of it put together doesn’t even come close to the empowerment that is developed during a time when you feel so physically vulnerable. 100% worth it!
