1. What made you choose Karla Mason Boudoir?

I came across Karla when I was searching for Boudoir photographers in my area…during that research I saw that she took photos of one of my local boudoir photographers which lead me to Karla’s IG page and I fell in love with her style. After seeing that she was able to beautifully photograph  people of all shapes and sizes, I just knew that she would be the one to take photos of me that I would be so incredibly proud of and that captured me exactly how I wanted to be seen.

2. What were you nervous about going into your session?

I actually wasn’t super nervous going into my session.  I truly just did my best to trust and enjoy the process. I had been looking at her photos for weeks and read the blog posts where clients raved about her…all of that settled any major nerves I could have had. There were maybe a couple jitters about whether or not I’d be able to do the poses and not look weird but Karla did an incredible job posing me for each shot.  She demonstrated each pose herself, and then when I was in the pose, she would give me direction on how to make little changes so she could get the perfect shot which she did quickly so I didn’t have to hold the more awkward poses too long (which I was so grateful for…she isn’t kidding when she says to stretch before your session!). She is also a great hype girl!! She had me feelin’ like a model pretty much the moment I stepped into her house. 

3. What was your favorite part of the experience?

Literally EVERYTHING.  It was fun getting my makeup professionally done…I never do that and it looked so amazing for the photos (and the 1000000000 selfies I took after my session).   

Seeing the studio in person was also super cool. I’d been seeing it in all of her photos and it was fun to be there and see it in real life.

Reveal day was probably my absolute favorite part though…getting to see the final product was so exciting!

4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

Just…happy.  And so excited to show my husband these photos as a surprise for our anniversary!    I’ve been on a long journey to self love and body acceptance, and I feel like this whole experience was a celebration of that continued journey.  I’m happy to have these photos to look back on for the rest of my life and remind myself that I’m a sexy ass bitch when I sometimes forget.

5. Would you recommend Karla Mason Boudoir to others?

Um…I already did before I even saw all of my photos!!!  I think that Karla has a gift of capturing the unique beauty of every person who gets in front of her camera and I am so happy I stumbled upon her.
