1. What made you choose Karla Mason Boudoir?
I had been thinking about doing boudoir pictures for a while but I was too nervous. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 34 years old, I am now 39 years old. Cancer has changed my body and it hasn’t been easy to accept this new body. I also have never liked myself on pictures and thought I looked awkward. I found Karla’s blog after asking about boudoir photographers recommendations on Facebook and after reading it I instantly knew she was the right fit for me. We spoke on the phone and she immediately put me at ease. She was so warm and friendly I felt like I was talking to a friend and she made me feel so comfortable. I booked my session right then and there over the phone.
2. What were you nervous about going into your session?
So many things!! First off I was terrified that even after getting over my fears of doing it I was going to hate the way I look on the pictures. I was self conscious about my breast cancer survivor body. I was nervous because I had no clue how to look sexy and do seductive poses. Karla was simply amazing. I literally told her “I am going to lay there and you tell me exactly what to do with every body part from head to toe because I have no clue” she replied without hesitation “girl I got you”. At that moment I was able to let go and follow her lead.
3. What was your favorite part of the experience?
How comfortable and special Karla made me feel. From the moment I walked through the door I was treated like a queen. The hair and make up girls were amazing as well.
4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?
I am so happy I did it and I can’t wait to surprise my husband with these beautiful pictures. They are for him. He is been my rock through cancer and has loved me unconditionally from the moment we met back in 1999!
I almost feel silly of how nervous I was. If I can do it anybody can do it! These pictures are so special to me.
5. Would you recommend Karla Mason Boudoir to others?
In a heartbeat. I honestly I wouldn’t go to anyone else. She is so good at what she does and quite frankly she is just a great human being overall.
